MAI Wind Tunnel T-1 Received a TsAGI Certificate
The MAI right to issue conclusions on the results of experimental studies of aerodynamic characteristics with reproducing the air flow velocity in the range from 10 to 48 m / s with an allowable deviation of 0.6 m / s, performed in the wind tunnel T-1 MAI, was confirmed. On September 18, 2019, at the Department 105 "Aerodynamics of Aircraft" of Moscow Aviation Institute (National Research University), the solemn presentation of the certificate of the wind tunnel T-1 MAI took place.According to the primary certification results, carried out by the Center for Certification of Testing Equipment of Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute Named After Prof. N.E. Zhukovsky (TSAGI), the MAI right to issue conclusions on the results of experimental studies of aerodynamic characteristics with reproducing air velocity in the range from 10 to 48 m / s with a tolerance 0.6 m / s, performed in the wind tunnel T-1 MAI, was confirmed. The certificate was given by Oleg Yalochkin, Head of TsAGI Testing Equipment Certification Center. MAI part was represented by Natalya Odintsova, Head of MAI Research Department - 1, and Sergey Popov, Deputy Head of Department 105 "Aircraft Aerodynamics".Subsonic wind tunnel T-1 MAI was designed to determine the aerodynamic characteristics (force and moment coefficients) of aircraft for various purposes, construction sites, sports equipment, etc. The pipe is equipped with six-component balance of electronic-mechanical type, modern measuring equipment and an information-measuring system. The experiments are carried out in a fully automated mode based on the introduced experiment program. The results obtained on this installation were used in such major projects as Venus, Halley's Comet, and Mars-96.
