MAI Is Recruiting Students for a Program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University
On June 21, 2019, a selection of students for the third intake of the joint Master’s degree program between Moscow Aviation Institute and Shanghai Jiao Tong University was held on campus.
The candidates for participation in the joint Master’s degree program were interviewed by Maxim Litvinov, Chief Designer of the joint Russian-Chinese program of a wide-body long-range aircraft CR929, who also works at the JSC Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, and Egor Nazarov, Head of the Laboratory No. 2 of the MAI Department 101 “Design and Certification in Aviation Engineering”.
The interview with the candidates was held in the format of an extensive interview. MAI students had to not only answer numerous relevant questions on the design of aircraft, polymer composite materials, product lifecycle management, onboard systems and certification of aircraft. They also needed to demonstrate their knowledge of the wide-body long-range aircraft project and tell about their personal achievements.
After the interviews, Maxim Litvinov outlined the final list of students who, after graduating from the MAI-SJTU program, will be included in the engineering team of the Chief Designer for creation the wide-body long-range aircraft CR929.
There will be 40 students on the joint program. Now Maxim Litvinov has chosen 10 students, but the interviews will continue until July 2019. The program has been successfully implemented since 2017 and this year the first graduates will receive their diplomas.
