The President Awarded the Graduate of MAI with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland
On Thursday, May 23, the President presented state awards of the Russian Federation in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin. The Order For Merit to the Fatherland, II class, was awarded to a graduate of the Moscow Aviation Institute, Hero of the Russian Federation, cosmonaut Fedor Yurchikhin.Fedor Yurchikhin graduated from the Department No. 608 Design of Aerohydrospace Systems, Faculty №1 Aircraft Engineering of MAI, in 1983, was qualified as a mechanical engineer.“The advanced innovations of science and technology always open up the space industry. It is promoted by committed individuals. Many of them participate in orbital flights, perform complex tasks. The cosmonaut's profession has become familiar, but still remains, without any doubt, heroic,” - said Vladimir Putin in his speech.
