MAI on HeliRussia - 2019: Prospects for Helicopter Manufacturing

Moscow Aviation Institute became a participant of the XII International Helicopter Industry Exhibition HeliRussia, which was held in Crocus Expo from May 16 to 18.

HeliRussia is the only fair in Russia where world achievements of the whole range of products and services of the helicopter industry are presented, from design and production to operation. Each year, MAI presents industry-leading industry speakers and the latest developments for the helicopter industry at the HeliRussia.

In the business program of the event, MAI was presented with a lecture entitled “Training Engineering Personnel for the Helicopter Industry”, which was conducted by Yuri Ignatkin, Head of the Helicopter Design Department of the University. The Department №102 "Helicopter Design" conducts effective cooperation with leading enterprises of the country: students of the MAI undergo training in production and at the same time study the current trends in the development of helicopter and aircraft industry. Most of the graduates of the department are in demand in the industry: Yuri Ignatkin, in his speech, stressed that MAI graduates successfully work at all plants in Russia, where helicopters are manufactured.

Recall that at present, MAI is actively developing cooperation with the company Russian Helicopters: the university trains specialists for enterprises, students and teachers participate in research and development. In addition, Russian Helicopters and MAI jointly develop the university's training base at the National Helicopter Engineering Center.

Also, at the HeliRussia - 2019 freshman of MAI Sergey Gorobets gave a tour for the youngest guests of the exhibition. MAI student presented them  the characteristics of helicopter technology, spoke about various modifications of special-purpose helicopters. Special attention of the audience was attracted by the simulator of the Ka-32 medium transport helicopter, and in memory of the excursion, the guests received MAI books on aviation as a gift.
