MAI Is the Leader of the Ranking of Inventive Activity
On May 13, the Expert Analytical Center published a ranking of the scientific productivity of Russian universities.
The ranking includes two blocks: fundamental (implies an assessment of the scale and quality of publication activity) and inventive (aimed at analyzing patent activity).
In the ranking of inventive activity, Moscow Aviation Institute shares 1–2 place with the Moscow State University (for comparison, in 2018 MAI was at 3-4 positions). MAI managed to achieve such a result thanks to systematic work on the creation and commercialization of the results of intellectual activity, including those created jointly with commercial companies.
In the ranking of publication activity, MAI is traditionally represented in the following areas: mathematics, materials science, engineering science and computer science. In addition, the university entered into two new subject areas: physics and astronomy, metallurgy.
It should be noted that the level of competition within the ranking of scientific productivity has increased markedly. So, in 2019, 125 universities from 44 cities took part in it (in 2018, 105 universities from 37 cities).
