Spacecraft Engineering
Description
We offer our students the best opportunity to improve their knowledges to make a career in the aerospace industry. The Russian scientific school combined with the experience of the most famous space program in the world will give an advantage to our students for professional development in any of international organizations aimed to conquer outer space.
Key features
The program is based on the experience of the Soviet space program and the latest Russian space developments. The numerous spacecraft and launch vehicle samples constitute the largest educational facilities in Russia for laboratory research and practical training. MAI students have already launched 9 satellites designed and manufactured in the University's laboratories.
Principal subjects
- The curriculum includes in-depth courses on mathematics necessary for the ballistic calculation of aerial and spaceflights and advanced studies in strength and reliability theory. Students undergo practical training in CAD software and take elective courses on spacecraft subsystems.
Career opportunities
- Graduates of the program gain deep knowledge of theoretical disciplines and various engineering approaches and technological solutions used in the modern aerospace industry. This allows them to begin their career with any of the world’s aerospace companies, such as NASA, Boeing, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), RosCosmos, the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), SpaceX, Thales or Magellan Aerospace. Mr. Wang Yongzhi, chief designer of China's first manned spacecraft Shenzhou 5 and Shenzhou 6, is our graduate.
