On February 8, MAI took part in the Russian Education Fair in Colombo (Sri Lanka), organized by Russian Education First.

MAI has participated in education fairs in Sri Lanka many times, but for the first time at the invitation of a partner Russian Education First, which held the event in cooperation with a Sri Lankan agency ANС Education.

The education fair was held in 6 areas: medicine, aviation, business, finance, engineering, and science. In addition to Moscow Aviation Institute, 6 other Russian universities took part in the event: the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, the National University of Science and Technology MISiS, Sechenov University, Pirogov Medical University and the Financial University.

The total number of visitors to the fair was 187 people. It was also attended by the representatives of the Russian Embassy in Sri Lanka, headed by Mrs. Anastasia Khokhlova, Head of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Colombo and First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Sri Lanka, who came to greet the guests.

“A majority of prospective students, who came to the MAI stand, were interested in Aircraft Engineering and Control Systems and Computer Science in Engineering undergraduate programs,” said Mrs.Natalia Vodina, Deputy Head of the MAI International Projects Department. “It is important for applicants to meet with representatives of universities in person, to ask all their questions live. Such activity inspires confidence in educational institutions.”

Studying in Russia is a popular choice for students from Sri Lanka with a wide variety of interests. At the moment, 17 students from this region are studying at Moscow Aviation Institute, and two have already successfully graduated from the university.
