MAI delegation visits India
In early February Olga Pogosian, Deputy Head of International Relations Department of MAI, and Alexey Zarechenskiy, Head of International Projects of MAI, made a business trip to India. A partner and a friend of MAI, Dr. Srimaty Kesan of Space Kidz India agency, invited our colleagues to Chennai.
We were able to visit several universities in a few days: Hindustan University, B.S. Abdur Rahman University, Veltech Dr. RR and Dr. SR University. The purpose of these meetings was to provide a detailed description of Moscow Aviation Institute to the Indian partners, tell about the new approach to the educational process as well as to the philosophy of engineering education in general. Our Indian colleagues showed a clear interest in future cooperation. The meetings were very efficient and there are already minutes with a definite plan of action.
On the last day of the trip, there was a closing ceremony of the Young Innovator of India pioneering scientific and technological works among students of various universities. More than 400 students fr om all over India took part in the contest. 45 students with the best projects were invited to Russian Centre for Science and Culture for project defense and for the awarding ceremony. The winner was Kuruva Sreeramulu. Olga Pogosyan was one of the speakers and a member of the award panel. It was a very spectacular and interesting event full of emotions and positive feedback.
India is a country wh ere one can see a systematic approach to the higher professional education which has made progress in training specialists all over the country. Our Indian partners are eager to learn about the experience of Russian aircraft designers, lecturing and research staff. Russian-Indian cooperation is one of the most important areas of international relations in MAI and we believe that our relationship will soon hit a new level.
